Today Feb 3rd 2017 in the Bourke St Mall in Melbourne, 37 Buskers performed approx 20 min sets on two stages, to raise funds for the families and victims from the horrific and tragic event that occurred there on 20th Jan 2017. The buskers created a compilation CD called ‘Melbourne We Love You” which is an amazing feat in such a short time. Busking in Melbourne, especially in the Bourke St Mall has been around for as long as I can remember, and in 1982 with a couple of fellow students, we applied for a busking licence, which we received and with minimal talent, we tried to entertain those who bothered to listen. I did not have the time to be able to photograph the whole 12hour event, but I certainly was privileged to photograph the great talent that did perform while I was there.
